therazorbladeThis doesn’t include enough to be very useful. I was able to get the map to my general location and tried to share my location. Nothing seems to happen. When I click on pins on the map, nothing opens or happens.
elizabethchaI couldn’t get this to work in my Android browser :( Worked fine in Chrome. When I saw the other markers on the map, I wanted to do a lot more, like group chat, share photos, etc.
dan_mangesUtility: Great way to see where somebody is. I’m not sure if this is intended to be used for people who are in somewhat close proximity (as in the same city), or for people who are more distributed. Possibly both? I think each group would have different needs for the site. Design: Simple design, easy to understand how to use. Innovation: There are a lot of services to mark/share your location, but it’s always a side feature, and wouldn’t be conducive to seeing where everybody is ad hoc. Completeness: There might be some bugs with marking location — it worked for me in Chrome, but not on my iPhone. Overall, a cool idea. I hope you had fun building it!
urbanpugOn Mobile Safari, I was presented with geolocation errors. I also tested in FF6 and Chrome, where site did not show a pin in my location. I could not tell whether one of the pins that was shown was “me” or not (just in the wrong location). Actually, I couldn’t see who anyone else was. This is a clever idea and perhaps would be useful for bloggers or others who want to visualize group location data (say, for event planning purposes).
okaysamuraiGood core concept. However, from my understanding, it seems a little limited in use when apps like Beluga can do this plus much more.
Seems like a fun idea – but I did have some issues with getting the geolocation working in Firefox. It kept asking me for permission even though I kept allowing it.
I probably wouldn’t use it but it works.
I had this idea, was hoping someone would make something like this someday. Good job ;–)
Cute concept, can imagine it would be great to use on road-trips with multiple cars etc.
However I couldn’t seem to get it to work (eventually added me after a few refreshes and choosing a single word for a name) but never managed to see other people who swore blind they were in there.
Would be nice to see it extended to support group chat and auto-update (if this wasn’t implemented already) maybe tracking locations if they move so you can follow people’s routes etc.
(Tested on iOS 4 & WP7)
