We make use of Google Speech API to create real time subtitles.
Record yourself talking and save it into a MP3 file. Upload on the app. After 30s-1minute, the app will return the results of the speech to text conversion. A few caveats. The file size should be not be more than 100k. The conversion is not that accurate
Google Speech API, Express, Connect, Jade, Underscore, MP3Splt, Sox, and of course Node.js

charlesbeelerLove the concept but looks like the app itself needs a lot of work hence completeness score. T2S done right would be a great thing. Design was pretty basic
nymNot sure what makes this interesting. Would have liked Flash integration to pull audio from my microphone.
Giving me errors. “Very Long” upload doesn’t work.

therazorbladeAs is, it is not very interesting or useful. Most of the interesting stuff is on the API server side. But you could have gone beyond just uploading an audio file. For example, instead, you could have let people pick a YouTube video and then create subtitles for it (or just a transcript).

Neat idea but could use quite a bit of polish. It would have felt more useful if I could pull audio straight from my browser instead of having to upload a file, or if I could point it to an input source. Like an url for a mp3 or an online video.
