Race your fellow programmers! Challenge people to a no-holds barred programming competition. Create and submit new questions for other players. Insert yourself into old races using the “ghost race” feature. Watch out for modifiers — other users can put preconditions on the code you write; for instance, another player can disable loops for the next problem. Also, chat with players in the game lobby while you wait for everyone to get ready.
Should work in Chrome, FF4+, Safari4+. Login with github. Either try a ghost race (http://quickerthan.me/races/5/ghost/) or invite a few friends to join you for a race.

ericfloHad some small issues with logging in with my Github account, that got resolved. Really fun project / game to get your brains working. It was a bit confusing at first, it could probably use some small introduction text.. But than again, users don’t read ;P Had a lot of fun overal :)
nonkenAwesome project and something we can use here at uxebu regularly. Would be awesome if you extend features, top coders, etc.
therazorbladeI found the interface to be somewhat confusing. The different modes are not really explained and I didn’t see some of the features mentioned above like disabling loops. Using both Twitter and GitHub is a bit odd. Also, it would be cool to turn answers into gist snippets once you are done answering.
Great idea. May be your and my idea should merge to offer live compilation and results. :)
SuttoI’m a big fan of the tool and I can see it being super useful as a simple recruitment tool (e.g. testing programmers implementations under constrained conditions) but found it hard to work out how to get started. The ready / not ready buttons seemed kind of counter intuitive whilst the question format made it hard to know how I’d failed (e.g. syntax error / incorrect implementation) which would help. Likewise, the first attempt at a solution I gave had no feedback as to the input variables so It was hard to know if I’d done correctly or not. That set, from a technical perspective, it’s very impressive and useful – I didn’t look into how the sandboxing works, but the idea of it none the less is kind of cool.
codepo8I like the concept a lot, actually we are working on something similar in Mozilla. Right now I couldn’t make it work. I also was a bit taken back by the double login – I am already logged into GitHub, why should I have to tweet people when I could send them messages there?
csanzI can see this becoming a very useful tool among devs. I give it 5 stars across the board for vision. I’d like to see this evolve.
Idea has quite some potential, but couldn’t figure out what to write up.
mahemoffGreat potential to be a fun programming game and education tool. I had some trouble working out how to jump in or start a game (ideally would be easy even in a single-player mode), but would be great and not just in a JavaScript context.
I had a really hard time knowing what the input and output formats were. In the end I got stuck on the second question, the fibonacci sequence simply because I couldn’t figure out how to format my answer.
I like the idea though, it would be pretty fun to do a real-time programming challenge with a friend.
