Our application aggregates Twitter conversations, photos and videos for conferences using Twitter’s search API.
You can view existing events anonymously, but you have to sign in with Twitter to define conference events. When creating an event, be sure to specify the hashtag, which we’ll use to aggregate Twitter activity.
Twitter’s search API, backbone.js, Twitter Bootstrap, node-twitter, everyauth, Express, Embedly, Google Maps and MongoDB.

jimpickNice looking aggregator. Works well. Lots of potential for adding more features to make it even more awesome.
mnshahwould not load. | |||
the node service is down and machine is not ssh'able :(
removed from voting until the issues with joyent are resolved. meanwhile you can look at it here if you’re still interested – http://twalks2.no.de/
dapsaysIt seems like this has a lot of potential, but as others have pointed out right now it appears like not much more than a search by conference hash tag. I was surprised to see no photo or video results for OSCON. Design is great, though — nice and clean.
steadicatVery useful service, with a beautiful design, and and amazing level of polish.
thanks so much for your support!
janlI can see this being really useful, the @lanyrd folks should definitely check this out. Nice design too!
Thank you!
rjkentNice functionality. Eventually you should add a “PDF Export” for past events so people can archive the tweets, photos, etc for an event. One small request for the existing app: the “loading…” bar should display when you change tabs between tweet/photos/videos. If those things are slow to load, it is confusing about whether there are any or not.
Very nice idea with the PDFs, thanks! And we’ll sure make the UI more responsive and telling the user exactly what is happening now. Thanks for your support!
jsjohnstNever got it to aggregate tweets, but the other tabs did show. Definitely a useful project and hope it’s something you will continue to work on following the judging. Good work!
Hi, thanks for feedback! We’ll definitely continue working on this as we haven’t implemented even the 10% of the ideas we have :) Btw I assume you’ve created – http://twatter.no.de/#events/4e614a7bc9c3a94f040001dd, which has plenty of tweets, so maybe it was started with a delay or something.
jsjohnstYep, that was one of them! And yes, the tweets are loading now.
The first thing I did was type a search and hit enter… turns out that refreshes the page and clears the search. Typing “node” or “node.js” doesn’t bring up “Node.js Knockout” (though “knockout” or “nko” will). Basically, this would actually be better without the search feature. And it’s not clear how it’s better than just searching Twitter for #nko.
It will get better than just searching a hashtag. Just give us some more time ;–)
wjgilmoreAnother great idea with huge potential. Would be very interesting to provide events with a way to pass along an event schedule which could then be synchronized with the tweets.
That’s exactly the long-term idea ;–) We’ve decided to move project forward after nodeknockout and already OpenSourced it. Thanks for an advise and support!
SethGBSimple and cool. I’m keen to see more apps deal with the discussion that happens online surrounding events and I love what this is attempting to do.
therazorbladeYou’re missing the one functionality that is an absolute must – real time Twitter updates pushed to the browser.
Yeah. We know. Support for twitter streaming API with realtime tweets on site through socket.io is in our plans. Thanks for an advise!
great use of bootstrap. you guys should have added a sample event with photos and videos, so we can see all features working. i assume you’re not using the real-time api? it would be a great feature to have this page up during a conference to track conversations.
It looks nice and does what it says. Its true that similar services already exist but to build in 48 hours is impressive. Also, just because other services already exist that do the same room doesn’t mean there isn’t room for competition. You guys seem to have a good start.
Looks cool (not very innovative though). Only complaint is that when I search for an event I get to a list that doesn’t reflect what I was searching for. Took me a few seconds to figure it out.
It’s not that innovative – there are many services like that around – and I couldn’t see any difference. The design is nice, but too much similar to twitter’s bootstrap. Anyway… looks really nice!
rmurpheyLots and lots of rough UI edges — lots of places where there should be more feedback to the user about what’s happening, and lots of places where unexpected things happen (for example, a search for ‘jsconf’ lands me at the events page, but no indication there are no results). I’d need these issues ironed out, and some additional utility too, in order to use this over standard Twitter search.
Useful and pleasant project. I want to use it!
That’s a cool aggregator!
Innovative idea – there are so many conference tweets out there, it’s a great idea to consolidate and make sense of them in an organized way. I had some trouble navigating the app – I couldn’t get back to the homepage several times, even after refreshing, and I never could find the button to create an event after signing in (in Chrome). But the UI looks professional and slick and viewing others' event Tweets worked great. Having even more functionality to organize the Tweets/media shown would be interesting and completing the app to be fully functional would be awesome too. Nice work!
