A collaborative, realtime musical instrument and performance venue, all in one. Oh, and monsters.
Pick a room! Take the stage to create a tune. Up to four people can collaborate in real time, and the entire room can follow along.
Twitter auth appears to be a bit flaky, but if you get an error after signing in, try again. If the play button appears to do nothing , try clicking it again or refreshing the page.
Works great in Chrome. Less so in everything else.
Tools and services: Pusher, MongoHQ, Mongoose, Express, Everyauth, Coffeescript.

jerrysievertrendered in chrome, did not work after repeated attempts.
There was no way to leave a room once I entered one. It was hard to use because you couldn’t hear a tone when you clicked a button, only when you hit play. It made it pretty hard to make a decent beat. My rooms said there were others in it but I couldn’t really see them or tell other than the fact that the chat said (1 other user here)
therazorbladeThe monsters are cool but the buttons can use some design love. The idea of taking the stage is nice. The music creation UX takes a lot of guessing. It would be helpful to have a keyboard somewhere to try out all the sounds. Same idea as Eight Bit Beats.
Couldn’t get it to work. Seeing some errors right after signing in with Twitter.
sventuredCould definitely see it being fun, but too flaky and hard to discern how to use it at this point.
geradI couldn’t get it working at all. :–( On latest chrome. Tried refreshing the page and logging in again. When I went into the room, there was nobody there but me, despite it saying that there were other people in there. Dug the idea though, and also the avatars were way cool. But I couldn’t figure out how to use it. Eventually some other people joined and some 8bit music started coming out, but I’m still not sure how. FYI, this is what I was seeing: http://cl.ly/0R3H2y2d17203r2e003C
