A werewolf is on the prowl, find and kill him before you become a victim! Don’t raise the suspicions of your fellow villagers though, or you could be wrongfully lynched! Needs 3 players or more, so get your friends to join!

okaysamuraiI’ve played Werewolf/Mafia before with friends, so I really like this idea. It’s a much different experience when you can’t read body language or vocal intonations – maybe a video or audio version for the future? Very nice design and execution too, you made it seem colorful and fun, and gave it a nice branding as well.

therazorbladeBeautiful! Some of the clock countdowns are too slow and you basically just wait for nothing. There should be a way for everyone to agree to skip forward.
Design rules. Innovative/utility… can’t consider it anything remarkably new or groundbreaking. Overall pretty complete for 48 hours though!
Only providing one of starting with the app is a pain, lucky I still had a rusty facebook account. But one of the biggest downsides of this game is that you actually have to play with multiple users. You will be waiting there for ever =/ But once the game started it was quite fun so 3 stars for that
Design was great. Once I got enough people it was kind of fun. With some extra features and added gameplay this could be really fun. As it is right now, much like the villagers being eaten, it’s dead after one round :(
yep, there are a bunch of other roles that didn’t make the cut.
once we’ve added them it should make the fun last a lot longer :)
Saw some UI weirdness happen and wasn’t able to play. But, great idea. I’d use something like this.
SuttoA very fun game – we had four people in the office playing and it worked exactly as expected. My only complaint is the fact if you’re playing in an area where others can see the screen, there is no option to hide that you’re the werewolf. Likewise, it would be nice to be given the option to automatically restart games. Other than that, a lot of fun – great job!
Amazing! Strong work. | |||
How to play lightbox doesn’t scroll. With a min of 3 players some AI would be nice.
you must have a tiny little display if you need the lightwindow to scroll :p
the game is solidly complete. If you grab some peers you can play a game similar to the real life one with no problems.
AI would help with the judging but as a social game it wouldn’t be very fun…
Too bad it’s not playable with not enough people! couldn’t there be an AI?
AI didn’t make the 48hrs.
Grab some friends if you wanna play – we’ve had some epic games over the last few days!
Did you manage to actually play a game in the end? If not, try again at a different time in the day, certain times tend to be quieter than others.
Our implementation is based on Mafia, in which the human interaction plays a central role and therefore pretty much designed to be played with a bunch of people you know. Just get the folks in the office to join!
ok will try tomorrow
SethGBGood social element, not enough direction as to who is the wolf and what sort of questions you should be asking….
visnupI wish the game were playable without the need for more people, though understandably not nearly as fun. but in general, it’d be nice to get a sense for it w/o needing people. also, because of the facebook auth, I can’t even easily fake it out with more logins. :( finally got to play with some people. quite fun. a good way to hang out with friends and chat actually. dinging 1 for needing people to always play with and dinging 1 more because I’m not sure how addictive the entire game would be. also, at night 30 seconds is a long time to hang out and just watch the clock count down. that pause felt awkward. looks beautiful for 48 hours and amazingly polished and didn’t run into a single bug or weirdness.
Thanks for the review.
Yes, time adjusted to amount of people and the extra’s that introduce the ‘sticky’ factor just didn’t make the 48hrs :)
We’ll be ready to make all the updates as soon as judging is over, keep an eye out ;) –

visnupawesome. excited to see the updates later. again, great job polishing for 48 hours.
zdanielshiThis is terrific! It’s Mafia played online. Super well designed. Beautiful experience. Figured out how to play right away. Prompts are well done. However, one of the key interactions with mafia is the face to face talking, bargaining, lying, and crying that goes on and makes for a fun and addicting. Would give you full stars for completeness, but just thinking about how cool it would be if you could somehow integrate videochat.
Thanks for the feedback. Video could be an option but we have some good ideas for ways to prompt engaging chat conversation.
Look out for the next version ;)
zdanielshiTerrific! Looking forward to it. You guys clearly have something going on with user experience design =)
geradHoly cow. This is amazing. I would never have considered porting mafia to the web, but you made it work. The designs are gorgeous. The transition from night to day in particular. Very, very well done. Taking a star away from utility/fun b/c the game play is a little slow… you need to figure out how to make it async like words with friends maybe.
joining a game can be slow, noted for the next version.
I love that game, you did a great job porting it to the web although its kind of weird playing it with strangers :)
yep, you need to get some friends involved to make the most of it.
Art is great and seems like a cool game, but the fact that 4 players are required to do anything is a MAJOR bummer.
