Platform for users to Tutor each other, collaborate on ideas, and work together. Use Case: 1) If You have a question, just create a room, set description to your question. Other users will be able to explain it and help you through chat, audio, drawing … or facial expressions. 2) If you like to show your friends an idea you had, create a room and set a password on it. Your room will not show up in “available rooms” and users trying to access it via url will be prompted for password
1) Simply go to http://nerderator.no.de 2) Site will automatically generate a new room and redirect you to your new room. To give your room a name, click on settings and apply. Share your url with friends 3) To browse other rooms that people created, click on “view rooms” and join it!
——-Ummms——– The Video functionality, unfortunately, is not tied to rooms. You will video chat with everyone on the site. “View Rooms” feature is not fully implemented Room settings is not fully implemented
We tried our best to implement all those functionalities, but we’ve never worked much with node.js before so we had to squeeze our learning curve into the 48 hours
OpenTok for Video, SocketIO for core functionality.

mranneyI like the idea. It seems like a very useful service. I could not get this working in either Chrome 14 or Safari 5.1. I could create a room by myself and draw some things on the canvas, but I could never join other rooms. I also couldn’t get the video chat working. Try as I might, I kept getting stuck on the video permissions. I think this would be a great entry if it worked, but it’s obviously hard to do ambitious projects in 48 hours.
hunedflash made my computer go mega-slow. but it did work, with some quality-of-service issues. slow/flash privacy settings/etc. also a tad creepy :)
slightlylatethe collaborative drawing feature isn’t actually syncing for me and the chat room is a bit high-latency. Would be amazing to have code editing integration, ala EtherPad
_jhsPretty cool! I got stuck in the /rooms room listing URL. (Back button worked fine.)
therazorbladeNice interface but could not get the canvas to work between two people (chat worked fine). There are no indicators when a hidden panel has updates or when someone joins the room. Also email invite did not work and the dialog opened between the white paper and the drawing. It probably would have been better to focus on less features and get them working. Same idea as Meendie.
It looks really nice, i wish more time was spent getting it working instead of the fancy CSS effects.
mdeitersHey team, congrats on participating. The design was clean but I think the transparency made it a little hard to read. As far as the completeness, would have loved to be able to click into the other rooms but the links were dead. Also the Facebook integration seemed broken.
A solid entry, though my canvas didn’t seem to transmit at all between two users. Also, the toolbar circle and eraser options didn’t seem to work, and there was no UI indication of what tool I had selected.
