A shared online noticeboard allowing users to submit advertisements and messages for other people to see with real-time dragging/updates.
Only works in Firefox and Chrome, Best viewed in latest versions. (After testing, Chrome has a couple of styling bugs – use FF if possible)
Register an account on the website, or use twitter (Twitter login not working, but it does add notices from tweets containing “#eboard”)
Twitter integration: Add “#eboard” to your tweet to see the notice added to the page automatically.
DNode will sometimes (very rarely – not Dnode’s fault either) drop the connection (if theres a server error), in this case you will need to refresh. If the login/register buttons aren’t working, try refreshing.

zapnapThanks – all this feedback from NKO has been great. I’ve got a few ideas to handle the massive board problem and definitely want to try to push this idea further, but if it doesn’t work out at least it gave me a good excuse to compete in NKO :)
mendelcInteresting idea, but needs context/categories. It’s not clear what notices to put up where. Also couldn’t edit or delete a message.
Thanks, I planned to allow the users to tag their notices (the way stackoverflow does) but ran out of time. At least I know to manage my time better next time
slightlylateIt’s pretty buggy for me, which makes it hard to judge. Twitter integration is fun, but this was (nearly literally) the first demo we built with Comet-style stuff back in The Day ™.
Thought I had found something original with this idea – looks like there are a few different sites using something similar :) Any chance the demo you mentioned was open sourced? It would be great to take a look
Well done. Feels complete and love the scaling aspect of it. Interested to see the code on this if you open it up!
Thanks – I’m thinking about working on it after nko, source is a big mess at the moment though :) I’ll open it as soon as I clean it up
therazorbladeNeed to add theme preview. New note wasn’t added in a predictable place. Very nice UX.
Ronseal on-line notice board, does exactly what is says on the tin.
There’s clearly utility in online message boards but the skeuomorphic physical bulletin board, including real time moving-shit-around seems to offer less utility. Regardless, the thing works as advertised and it was cool (if a bit jarring) to see folks moving things around at the same time I was. So, for Node Knockout, consider that a mission accomplished.
Same idea of the http://scrumblr.ca/, bur really cool
Very visually appealing, nice job on the zoom in/out and the search. Slick.
Not sure that it’s useful to a wide audience (think of how massive that bulletin board could get!) but it makes for a really cool technology demo, especially when it looks as nicely as this does.
A few bugs that need to be worked out, but nothing massive. Twitter integration is clever too.
