chrismatthieuCan you give us some feedback please?
chrisumbelthe idea has merit, and i see it’s application to mobile. scraping in general is a rather dangerous task and simplifying/compressing volatile markup is treating the symptoms not the disease. i was down on the idea at first but after thinking about i can see the benefit. perhaps it’s just a few good examples and some explanation away from being marketable. still, it would have to be combined with other useful services and have one heck of an SLA:)
Can you provide a small description about the things that you don’t like you about MinusOne?
willconantI like how complete the user experience is here. The actual service doesn’t have enough going on to be very useful, but this sort of thing is a great match for Node.
mdeitersNovel idea, especially if you can use caching/etc to improve performance and work around throttle limits. Also liked how easy the registration process was. The contrast of some of the text was hard to read and the documentation was slightly confusing. Overall the direction this could go in could be interesting.
therazorbladePretty cool. It needs a lot of work to be useful, given the initial support is more practical to implement on your own server.
sventuredLove that they took the time to document. Could’ve done a better job explaining what common use scenarios might be. Could be a nice little utility.
Does what is promised, and is pretty easy to grok. Would be nice if URL slashes were auto-converted to their ASCII values. I only used the demo version. Did not write anything using the API.
