Node Whiteboard is a real-time collaborative drawing tool.
Judging Instructions
On initial visit, user will be brought into a “room.” This room has a canvas whiteboard and an unique URL. The whiteboard is to be drawn on, and the URL to be shared. Others who use the URL will join the room attached to the URL, and users within the room may collaborate in real-time on the same whiteboard. Whiteboards can, at anytime, be exported to PNG format. The ink level exists to limit the amount of strain on server. Once 100%, the whiteboard cannot be drawn on unless cleared. The clear all link clears the whiteboard for that room.
Recommend Chrome and Firefox on Ubuntu or Windows 7 when using. Does not work with IE 8 and below.

therazorbladejudgeIt is similar in concept to a bunch of other entries but with much less features. Why limit ink? It’s not like there is a game element to it. Could not copy/paste the link presented at the bottom. No colors, chat, etc.

jeffreyjudgeI think this is a pretty good idea. There’s others out there that exist, and I’m not sure about the utility of a collaborative whiteboard vs. something like 37signal’s writeboard. This is mostly due to the fact that drawing on a whiteboard with your mouse is a pretty crappy experience.

contestantNicely thought out with a very simple user flow. PNG export is a really nice touch. I’d love to see private rooms and additional color inks. Overall it’s a very well executed app that would be very handy to use in a distributed group setting. Nice job.

Very simple UI. The experience is pretty reactive to new drawing. The png export works great. I like the effect of the ink usage counter and changing the cursor when ink runs out.
