Quick Intro

IFTTT-enable your webhooks

Description

Note: didn't finish :(

Express (or rather, connect?) middleware to turn webhook payloads into rss feed. This makes webhook data available to IFTTT via the Feed trigger.

Judging Instructions

We didn't finish, none of the below is working atm

Caveat: IFTTT's Feed trigger checks feeds every 15-20 minutes so it may take a while.

Typical use case

  1. Create a new receiver and give it a name
  2. Configure it's "processing chain". The chain transforms webhook payload into an rss feed entry.
  3. Copy the receiver's endpoint url into some app that fires webhooks.
  4. Copy the receiver's feed url into an IFTTT recipe involving the Feed trigger.
  5. Perform the actions necessary in app from step 3 to cause webhooks to fire.
  6. Watch for IFTTT actions

Quick and dirty use case

  1. Create a new receiver and give it a name
  2. Configure it's "processing chain". The chain transforms webhook payload into an rss feed entry. Protip: make the first chain link be "query string".
  3. Copy the receiver's feed url into an IFTTT recipe involving the Feed trigger.
  4. Point browser to <endpoint url>?x=foo&y=bar where x and y were properties configured at first chain link from step 2.
  5. Watch for IFTTT actions

Minimal use case

TODO demo is set up to tweet webhook data at (TODO get twitter account)
