chrismatthieuDesign is good, could be useful to people. Innovation… I don’t see how this pushes anything Node related. Overall complete enough.
We are making use of node to have a persisted socket connection to the backend to ensure light data transfer, and splitting the word into grids to speed up broadcast and transfer of messages between uses of the same area, i hope perhaps that’s at least some stuff done with node :)
therazorbladeThe original artwork is really nice but the map items are pretty standard. When I clicked ‘add message’ nothing seems to happen so not sure if it added anything. I don’t think simple map annotation is very interesting. I think need at least some categories or layers or link the messages to Twitter followers or FB friends.
could you try it again? cause we couldnt find the issue, its working :)
therazorbladeI did. Got most of it working. Updated my review. Thanks!
thanks for your comments!
thanks for the comments. yeah, the map annotation is something we should emphasize on.
strange, you should see a ‘message added’ notification after you added the message.
nddrylliogERR::EMPTY_RESPONSE when trying to use it. Too bad! The concept looked interesting. Update: it loads now! The design is smooth, although it would be great if you could detect when the geolocation stuff is allowed and then display the map automatically. In my case, I saw the authorization bar pop up and then had to reload the page once authorized. Apart from that, well, it’s hard to test cuz nobody’s here :) But I like the idea. I think this could get really crowded in, say, central Tokyo. Have you thought about it? What advantages does it have against, say, Foursquare?
could you try again perhaps? using a chrome/ff stable release? cause we cant quite reproduce it, so, perhaps its working now! :)
Yes, you are right, it will get very crowded in central business area. We are working on to provide a better user interface for user and provide category and filter for users.
Unlike foursquare, users are not bounded by one place (must check in for a place). We want to see the message spreading in certain area and people can actually reply/comment to that. Further feature even include answer anonymous questions and make friends etc.
mranneyThis is a nice looking entry and the twitter integration worked flawlessly for me. There aren’t any other users near me, so it was hard to see this app doing anything. It’d be more fun if we could zoom out further, including to see the entire planet.
It doesn’t seem to work for me but a nice idea, nonetheless.

You are correct! Appears to work properly now :)
thank you for trying it again :)
ssorokaServer wouldn’t respond. Error 324 (net::ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE): The server closed the connection without sending any data. Nice idea.
could you perhaps try again with chrome/ff(but has to be stable release) we dont seem to be able to reproduce the results using these browsers
ssorokaServer responds now, but ran in to problem posting a message:
Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property ‘coords’ of undefined Uncaught TypeError: Cannot call method ‘lat’ of undefined
that’s interesting! I am so sorry for it not working proper… did it happen only when you post a message?
Works well for me now. Quite nice
Nice idea, love the simple interface and typography. I couldn’t find any other etches though.
it’d be great to see a timeline of recent places/comments. Small nit: it’s “collaborative”. :–)
