The main objective of this application is to make users able to easily find events in his city and to know where friends would be going, The secondary objective is to create some kind of competition between people and events seeking the biggest number of people participating.
The mechanism is simple , people will see a list of events ordered by the number of attendants , he can “Join” the event informing that he’ll be attending , if he don’t have any followers one people will be added to the “event score” , otherwise it’ll add the number of people following him that aren’t attending any other event in the same date + 1. if someone is following 2 different persons and these people select 2 different events to go , the follower will not be accounted in any of the events unless he selects one.

therazorbladeThe basic idea of an event board with a game aspect is nice. But this doesn’t accomplish it. The list of missing features is long, but I have to mention links – from users to their events and from events to their details…
Thanks for enjoying the idea , the entire team has little knowledge in JS , Node.js and it was our first “big” project using it.
We started a little bit late (saturday night) so we did what we could but sadly , we were unable to finish the project.
Anyway , it accomplished our goal of learning more Node.js and having fun :)
We hope to do better next year with a solid knowledge in Node.js , Thanks for the evaluation.
therazorbladeRevised your stars a bit.
chrismatthieuNice site design and a pretty good idea. Also not bad for a first node project given the late start.
mdePretty site design. Login process was smooth. List of Top Events didn’t load. Flash of unstyled content before every page-load lasted about one second, was very noticeable.
We noticed the style problem but we let it to be finish in the final minute and sadly we didn’t had time to fix it.
We couldn’t finish the project but at least it was fun and we learned a lot.
Didn’t really do a lot, I could create an event but not interact with it, other users, and the “view all” was just a list of dashes?
We started a little bit late (saturday night) so we did what we could but sadly we are beginners in node.js and we were unable to finish the project in due time.
Anyway , it accomplished our goal of learning more Node.js and having fun :) also as a bonus we got a nice pet project based on a last hour idea.
glenngillenI think it’s an interesting idea that if executed properly could be well received. Unfortunately the current UX was broken in parts (just hyphens listed if you view all events, form fields too small to contain the font-size). The inability to view other people’s events makes it very difficult to judge. Best of luck with the next iteration though, look forward to giving it another shot.

I like the main page design; form for adding an event has some questionable usability issues (date picker in particular is not readily apparent). Couldn’t figure out how to actually join an event; while it looks good, it needs a bit more hand holding. I can’t bring myself to rank this high on innovation as it doesn’t really exemplify any significant features of Node.js.

The system wasn’t complete so there was no way to join the event :/

I think if you put in some real-sounding events it will look better for the judges.

Interesting concept and use of game mechanic. I was able to register an event, but the event listing page seemed to be empty and there wasn’t anything I was able to do from the user listing page. I tried the entry in Chrome, Safari and Firefox.
