adinardiSeems like what’s here is functional, but the feature set is minimal. Issues: – I was able to “vote” a single item an unlimited number of times – urls aren’t clickable – dates aren’t formatted friendly – no way to delete/edit? I’m not sure if with tight width is meant to be for mobile or some other reason. Without some filtering tools / subscriptions / groups / something this would very quickly become unusable with any large number of people. Depending on the target audience perhaps this isn’t an issue.
zapnapSo I’m not entirely sure what the purpose of this is. It seems to be a very very simple message board. Which might not be a bad thing, given how overcomplicated most message boards are. Obviously needs a lot of work — links don’t embed right, tags don’t render, I imagine videos and images won’t embed, etc. But I have to admit something about the uber-simple design really works for me.
I like the overall minimalistic feel of this. The small page width gives it a distinct feeling, and I like the use of typeface and color. The interface feels a bit unresponsive, though. When you add a post, you have no visual cue of where it appeared. Perhaps showing it with a “warm” color and then fading it too gray would be nice? I also think topics should be sorted on reverse chronologic order (new to old) and that the comment bar for the replies should be at the bottom of the page, not at the top. This service could be useful if it was easy to embed it on other pages, or if it generated short urls for posting on tweets and the like.
zdanielshiSo this is a message board with more social capability built in? This is a case where it is not clear if simplicity is by design or not.
Very clean and minimal look (which I think is good.) Voting does allow multiple upvotes however (possibly intentional?)
rjkentNice comment / chat system. Some comments: – should people really be able to vote up their own comments? If yes, probably only once rather than an unlimited number of times. – How about sorting the entries by votes, or by FB friends, or…
It worked well for me. But as it is, it’s not very useful. I tought: “Well, if this is open source, I can install it on intranet or something and have a simple discussion board”. Turns out that links are not clickable, tags don’t filter the content and upvoting comments and topics don’t sort them (most voted on top). What I liked tough was that a simple and minimalistic approach is a good fit for many people, this could ever be made do work inside a browser or website sidebar.
csanzI got an error when I clicked on it http://cl.ly/1u3f152W2q0G260I0w1w I couldn’t figure out how to use it :(
Don’t really see the usefulness of random comments on a random topic. Does not limit one vote per person. Need to find a useful way to display all the comments, maybe enhance size for high votes.
