We’re the coolest, most badass chat system built in under 48 hours. We make it easy to create and share your own private chat. You can also join the site’s public chats by going to the home page. You also get a sneak-peek at the public chats, in REAL-TIME! ZOMG!
Update: So we nearly finished, you can join a public chat by clicking the room but not create chats. There are some other incomplete items like listing users in a room and being able to select your user name. Unfortunately day 2 was shot and we had to check-in with what we had… and we left the random chat bots on that we used for debugging so chatting may be a little random ;)
Join a public chat on the home page or create your own private chat. Share the private chat url with your friend, friends, twitter stream, facebook stream or embark on an epic journey while chatting with yourself. Should work with modern browsers!

cruciallyClean interface. While appearance of active community may actually be chat bots, though, will forgive. Foresee a mobile extension for this real-time chat service, e.g. Convore.
Super slick interface! I only wish it was more complete, but amazing job for a team of 2 in 48h!
dapsaysAs others pointed out, it doesn’t seem to work that well. When I chatted stuff, I saw it from other sessions, but not if I refreshed the page. Design is great, though.
foxxtrotVery nice, beautiful interface, though the inability to create private rooms is really unfortunate. There is a lot of potential here.
purincessNice design. Animation a little buggy. Need to think a little more about scenarios that this will be really useful.
Feels like core functionality is missing like setting username and to actually create a room. When I refresh the site different number of “users” are online in the rooms, so even the bots are “changing”. Is it just random gibberish or how does the bots really work? On page refresh, the stuff I had written is gone and it’s already filled up, a bit strange behavior for a functional chat? I’m testing on Chrome 13.0
Unfortunately we were only able to work on the project on Saturday, an emergency came up on Sunday. What you’re seeing with the room numbers and chat bots is code we had written to test certain aspects of the design and functionality. We decided to push what we had and hoped for the best :) Thanks for your vote!
mendelcGood looking site, but missing functionality.

jsjohnstThe polish on this really takes it from being a typical node.js chat hack into something worthy of being a contender as a top entry. Great work!
ireneinkyuI like the interface and design. The “create private room” didn’t work on Safari, but everything else appeared to be working. I had some interesting conversations with the spambots.
Best design in the contest. Clean, simple, good fonts, well chosen animations. Great.
iapainIntutive UI but app is commonplace.
Looks like a pretty slick chat. However, I feel like the idea is overdone. But I think the UI do look pretty awesome!
I like the design here, looks like a professional web-app.
I’m sorry, but I’m going to be a little scathing here and compare it to my own app. Issue the first:These rooms are full of nonsense random chat bots. There are no actual people in any of the chat rooms I joined. Supposedly, there were 1069 people chatting. I couldn’t find one real person. Issue the second:Half of the links I clicked were broken, or didn’t work. I omitted multiple rooms from my app, even though they are working and you can even get them working now using a couple of lines of javascript, I omitted them because I thought it would lessen the user experience of my already pretty unfinished app. Issue the third:The design seemed childish and incomplete, although this is a bit like the pot calling the kettle black in my case. I think if we had joined forces we could have produced something really great. Fancy teaming up for next year?
I enjoyed the message appear transitions, they were flashy without being obnoxious. The little restroom-men for user count was also fun. A fun little project but chat has been done a time or two. :)
Nice work! | |||
__mario__Nice design.
therazorbladeThe interface is really sleek and while there is nothing innovative about yet another node chat system, they UX is pretty innovative.
christkvNot very innovative but top-notch design and execution. Pretty much complete and working. Good job in 48 hours. A credit to their skills.
single room only interface. no list of users, no complete channel list. but looks promising. all the spambots are making it hard to have fun with ;–)

Feels slow from a UI point of view on a mac book air.
The world however needs better real time chat.
