Quick Intro

Our project hopes to bring a social slideshow to the public. With future implementations planned, we currently want to focus on allowing users to upload photos and have their photos or memes cycling through a projector screen at a party or event.

Our project displays a slideshow of recently uploaded pictures. Anyone who can access the website through their smartphone or computer, can upload pictures for everyone to see.

Judging Instructions

to use Social Slide, you will want to click on upload in the top navigation bar. From there, click "Choose file" and select the picture(s) you'd like to upload for the show. Once uploaded, you should be able to see your images on the home page cycling through. This may move to the 'slideshow' tab soon.

What they Used

We used jQuery, Node.js, and Bootstrap CSS/JS. To build the project, we used Sublime Text 2/3.

works as described, I look forward to seeing the UI improved. this could be pretty interesting.

Does what it claims to do.

This is a very basic project - realtime slide editing would be nice and some server-side processing.

It's neat, congrats. But it's not new, there are lots of ways to do this. iPhoto supports this on every device, Slideshare, etc.

I like the idea of a shared slideshow for an event or party. The problem is that you didn't get very far and this is missing some very basic features like private slideshows (right now there seems to be a single one for everyone to share), being able to delete photos you uploaded by mistake or people are offended by, full screen, transitions, etc.

I think the idea of a crowdsourced slideshow is pretty cool. I didn't realize that's what it was at first, so maybe the messaging could use a little help but cool idea. I'd like to see my own photos as well, It might be cool to fold in the users photos into the queue of images displayed so they're guaranteed to see their own photos.

I think this is a different kind of slideshow, but I don't know how useful it'd be -- maybe at parties or something?

    Anyway, good job!

Nice idea but lacking some instructions and doesn't seemed finished, when uploading multiple images in one go they didn't show on the slideshow or were to far through the queue to wait for.

While I didn't find this particularly "innovative", it performs exactly as described and expected.
