AnkurBulsaraFantastic design. REgarding the utility is still a little basic but I really like the idea!
Never seem this ideia before. Seems great. My girlfriend love to record her dreams. Nice work, guys!
ragavanFelt too simplistic. Adding a dream was easy, but then I couldn’t edit it. I tried adding both a private and a public dream, but it didn’t really feel any different. The timeline view also didn’t seem to scroll properly – clicking on previous entries didn’t take me there. Overall, I wasn’t sure the app was actually completed.
hunedneeds some sort of reward for recording dreams. otherwise, feels like i’m just doing work.
trycatcherNice design. Good and complete for an 48h MVP, but not really that interesting. A “wow” feature, even a gimmicky one, would help you stand out.
mstinaleeCool idea. I have some pretty crazy dreams. Would love to record them but I can’t always remember them by the time I get to a computer. Besides using words to describe a dream, maybe you could add other dimensions: color, sounds, references to existing artifacts. Tags would be helpful, too.
chrismatthieuIt would be cool to see the public dream timeline on the first page
bcherryits very impressive. Design is fantastic!
ireneinkyuDesign looked great — very appealing and soothing. I was able to add dreams easily, but when I added a dream with today’s date and then tried to enter a different dream with yesterday’s date, it overwrote yesterday’s dream with today’s dream, but keeping yesterday’s date (if that makes sense). I could only move the timeline forward, as the controls overlap and the backward one isn’t responding to my clicks. I’m not sure about the utility of the flickr photo feature.
therazorbladeI can’t imagine using it, but I guess people who keep dream journals might find it useful. The design is very practical and pleasant. The timeline controls are broken (at least on FF) as they are overlapping each other. I think it would be more interesting if you suggested pictures based on the title and description automatically instead of looking at the user’s own Flickr stream.
I love the design, and it’s overall fun and very complete. That said, I can’t vote on this in terms of innovation; it’s a standard web application that doesn’t quite showcase anything Node.js specific. :\
GREAT design. Really awesome guys! I could see myself (& others) using this.
Thanks! We have some more features lined up to be released in a few weeks (after judging, of course). :)
amirmanjiIt’s very pretty, but it’s also kind of hard to use. The timeline only show dates that actually have recorded dreams on them. I also kept trying to click on the dates across the bottom of the screen, but to no avail. Validation of user input was kind of hit or miss. For dates, I liked the red outline around the input field, but the Flickr username, name, and description fields seem to behave differently. I did like the frowny-face from entering an invalid Flickr username, but I think a red outline and red backgrounded frowny-face is needed here. (Is “frowny-face” the right technical term?) It would be nice if you could tag/categorize dreams somehow. Being able to view public dreams and comment on them would be nice too. A public dream timeline would be pretty sweet too. I also couldn’t find a way of linking to a single dream.
Like others, I will stick to a simpler way to record my dreams (text file for me). I feel like the main problem with recording dreams is getting them while they’re fresh, without distracting the mind. This webapp doesn’t solve that problem. The flickr photo integration is unnecessary, IMO. Tagging the dreams might be useful though. Very pretty site, but hard to use (working with dates in particular). Also the text input doesn’t preserve my line breaks. Can we view the public dreams? Why use node.js for this?
Nice little app. I really like the design. Although I’m afraid I’ll stick to good old paper- I would forget most of the dream on my way to the computer.
ddollarThe app looks very nice. I wish I could click on dates in the timeline or had visual indication of which dates had data associated with them. Great job!
rmurpheyGoogle says you want to manage my contacts — no thanks. :( I logged in with Twitter instead. The design is lovely at a glance, but there are some rough parts — I can’t click on dates in the timeline (even though I get a pointer cursor), and I want a date picker for choosing dates. The Flickr integration feels a little forced. Overall, pretty, but I’m not sure why I wouldn’t just use a notebook :)
I thought I could view other public dreams. Design looks good.
chinacceleratorHi folks, Love the idea but had a hard time going through a seamless experience, for the following reasons:
In terms of market, while it’s relatively not for everyone, simple apps of this kind can find their fan base (Evernote proved it).
Design was great. Also the interface was intuitive and elegant.
It’s a simple, but it’s well done.
Kind of wished there would be some dream analysis or aggregation across dreams, perhaps some clustering or detection of patterns, e.g. what do you dream of most. Also, I’d like the ability to tag my dreams to see patterns.
